Delta, Alabama
This state park has a lot going for it and a couple of downsides. Let’s start with the downsides…. there is some construction so there are some tight turns. The sites along the inside are odd shaped without a lot of useable space and it is very hilly.
Now to the good stuff.
At $39.00 a night this place is awesome! Next time we book, we’ll be sure to reserve an outside spot (big loops and to us outside would be on the right, inside on the left. Best spots appear to be outside loop, outside spots.
The beauty… who knew Alabama looked like this? Woods, mountains and more!
We took a couple of short hikes… like a quick drive out of the upper loop and down the hill to a small reservoir and water fall. Beautiful. There are many more hikes we did not do. As we explored, we found Cheaha Lake that happened to be having an Easter event with bird discussions, animal insights a coffee truck serving great espresso,a dn to top it off we met a very famous hairy person! 🙂
We continued around the park and back to the RV and we both wondered how Alabama could be so beautiful. On top of that, it was our anniversary and I surprised my wife with an awesome dinner at a great restaurant some 30 minutes away…. read about Classic On Noble in our post under restaurants…. OMG! wow, worth every penny!
