DENVER, CO
With our timed entry (you need one) in hand we made our way a good hour north of our awesome KOA campground just outside Central City, CO.

Driving over some awesome mountain roads we arrived in Estes Park and swung left. From there we made our way to the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center.
We decided that was a stop better saved for on the way out, so we continued on until we reached a line of cars and waited.
About 15 minutes later we made our way thru the gate and then continued on to the Bear Lake Road (requires a timed entry plus) and swung another left.
For the next few hours we slowly worked our way up the road – stopping here and there to take in the various sights and sounds.

We ended our trip at Bear Lake and took in the views and even some snow!
Afterwards we made our way back down, stopping at the visitors center, and lastly – before heading back to the camp, we made a stop at Bird and Jim restaurant for something to hold us over (a note – the appetizers at happy hour are awesome!)
We rested the next day before heading west to Moab….
